Landscape Waste Facility
Any person (including residents where no charge applies) or contractor hauling landscape waste to the Potts Lane facility must first go to the Paris City Hall, located at 206 South Central Ave, to ask for a free residential permit to pay the appropriate commercial disposal fees.
Any person or contractor hauling landscape waste to the Potts Lane facility must first go to City Hall and pay the appropriate fees based on the truck’s size or trailer’s hauling capacity and get a receipt presented to the facility supervisor before unloading. Any person or entity with multiple loads hauled to the facility may purchase a sufficient amount of receipts to facilitate direct trips to the landscape facility.
Semi-Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing Begins September 28
The City of Paris Water & Sewer Department will begin its semi-annual fire hydrant flushing program on Monday, September 28. This flushing program is conducted as part of the City’s required maintenance of the public water distribution system.
FLUSHING SCHEDULE
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday nights
8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Beginning Monday, September 28
Expected duration: approximately 3 weeks
Flushing is scheduled during the evening hours to reduce the impact on normal residential water usage as much as possible. During flushing, large volumes of water are moved through the water mains and discharged through fire hydrants. Residents may temporarily experience discolored or cloudy water during and shortly after flushing. We encourage residents to limit water usage during the flushing hours whenever possible, particularly activities such as doing laundry where temporary discoloration could cause problems.
Crews will begin on the east side of Paris near the City’s pump station and systematically work through the distribution system, pulling fresh water outward from our water source. The general progression will be:
East Side → Central Paris → Northeast → Northwest → Southeast → Southwest → Areas south of Jasper Street
Because of the large volume and force of water discharged from hydrants, some erosion or disturbance of grass, soil, gravel, or nearby areas can occasionally occur. Crews will make every reasonable effort to minimize this. If you notice an area that needs restoration as a result of hydrant flushing, please contact us the next working day, and City crews will make the necessary restoration as soon as possible.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while we perform this important maintenance of our water distribution system, and we apologize for any temporary inconvenience.

Tipping Fees
The following fees are based on the hauling capacity of the vehicle. Upon paying the appropriate fee, the City Clerk’s office will issue a duplicate receipt to the customer. The customer will be required to surrender one copy of the Potts Lane custodian’s receipt before unloading and keep the second copy for their records.
To accommodate a situation where multiple loads will be hauled to the facility, then that person or entity may purchase a sufficient amount of receipts to facilitate direct trips to the Potts Lane disposal site.
