Paris has some of the major tourist sites in Edgar County. These locations cater to all members of the family.
The Edgar County Courthouse is the center of the Community. Built in 1891, its Romanesque Architecture and four-face clock tower are renowned within this region. As one of 4 Paris buildings on the National Register of Historic places, it features yellowish native limestone and interior painting motifs reflecting the Chicago Exposition.
The Arthur House is home to the Edgar County Historic Society.
The Alexander Mansion houses the City’s Bicentennial Art Center that exhibits Midwestern artists, local shows and student work.

Opposite the Bicentennial Art Center is a hushed quiet place that’s perfect for meditation. It’s Vance Park, a lushly landscaped sunken garden with its own traces of history. There’s a Serpentine wall that reflects a design by Thomas Jefferson located in Charlottesville, Virginia. A lion’s Head fountain at the far end of the small park duplicates one found in Paris, France.
