YMCA
The YMCA was founded in England in 1844 with the first YMCA building opening in the United States in 1855. Historical records indicate that the YMCA came to Paris in 1877 and closed for unknown reasons around 1900.
The current YMCA located at 109 E Madison St. was incorporated July 15, 1969 with the building being built in 1972.
Paris is proud of it's YMCA that is comprised of a 25 yard indoor swimming pool, two gymnasiums, a full service Nautilus Center, weight room, dance studio, two racquetball courts, a teen center (Hangar) and full service locker rooms.
Memberships are income based allowing low income families to automatically receive 50% off. Scholarship assistance provided by the YMCA's Annual Strong Kids Campaign can further reduce membership dues by up to an additional 40%.
No one is turned away at the YMCA where we build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
